Fraser Fir Trees

Published on November 21st, 2016

The Fraser fir is the most popular tree used for Christmas trees. Our trees, grown on a family farm in North Carolina, have a wonderful fragrance, a classic shape, attractive dark blue-green color, strong limbs, and the soft non-prickly needles for which the Fraser is justly famous and which the tree retains for a long time after being cut. The Fraser fir has been used as the White House Christmas tree more often than any other tree, and was named the State Christmas Tree of North Carolina, where the majority of Fraser firs are now grown and where their growth and harvesting has become a multimillion dollar business. Named for John Fraser, an 18th century Scots botanist who explored the Appalachian Mountains, the Fraser fir is deservedly known as “the Cadillac of Christmas trees”.
